«Jon is an amazing teacher. I came to him as a beginning lute student. He patiently taught me the basics and was willing to say things more than two or three times until they finally sank in. He gives guidance and correction with respect and care. He emphasizes musicality and technique and gives the theoretical underpinnings to the repertoire and historical context for the work. He also is an excellent performer, plays many different instruments, and encourages experimentation and originality in his students.«
Helen, Renaissance lute student of three years.
